<p>It seems like most fat loss programs focus on one main thing: to burn fat, you have to expend more energy than you take in.</p>
<p>Such a focus makes sense of course, because if there is a universal truth to fat loss, that’s it.</p>
<p>This is what we call “energy balance.” In order to lose fat, you have  to create what we call “energy debt” or “energy deficit” – that is,  eliminate the balance and instead be on the negative side of the balance  scales.</p>
<p>Of course, that works very well for “beginning” fat. However, success doesn’t last forever.</p>
<p>As anyone who’s ever been on a diet and exercise program of any kind  can tell you, at first it’s pretty smooth sailing. Eat less, do more,  lose fat.</p>
<p>And then it stops! And as those same people can also tell you, it usually stops suddenly.</p>
<p>Of course, the first instinct people have is a very natural one…to  simply do more of what was bringing them success in the first place.</p>
<p>So they eat even less and do even more.</p>
<p>And…have no results.</p>
<p>You see, what these people fail to realize (and what most fat loss programs fail to address) is…</p>
<p><strong>After a certain point, simple energy deficit no longer covers the tab.</strong></p>
<p>It becomes more about what type of deficit.</p>
<p>Speaking generally, you actually have to eat closer to maintenance  calorie levels (instead of far below) and expend more calories through  exercise.</p>
<p>Even then, things don’t always happen as quickly as you want.</p>
<p>You see, once you’ve hit a fat loss plateau or when you’re trying to  lose the last few pounds (like I was when I was dieting for the beach  house), fat loss becomes less about energy balance and more about  hormones.</p>
<p>You see, some hormones, such as Leptin, actually control the majority  of your general fat loss efforts and all of the factors thereof:  appetite, satiety, “starvation mode.” However, assuming you’re eating  enough and trying to create an energy deficit through training, Leptin  isn’t the issue.</p>
<p>In <a rel="nofollow" href="http://naturalremediesnow.com/blog/goto/Final_Phase_Fat_Loss/632/2">Final Phase Fat Loss</a> though, you’re never on a severe diet, so you don’t have to worry about Leptin.</p>
<p>There are other hormones however, which are a bit more insidious in  their effects on your physique. They don’t just determine IF you gain  fat – they determine where you gain it, and whether you’re able to lose  it from those areas.</p>
<p>Those “problem” areas on your body are there for a reason.</p>
<p>“Problem areas” are created by your hormonal environment, and it’s  your hormones that force your body to have particular fat storage  patterns.</p>
<p>In this article, we’re going to talk about the three most common  types of regional fat storage, and the hormones that cause them.</p>
<p><strong>Back Got Back: Low Body Fat Storage</strong></p>
<p>One of the most common types of fat storage that we see in women is  the “pear shape” – fairly thin on top but heavy on the bottom (and IN  the bottom, if you know what I mean).</p>
<p>This is so common that we often refer to a “pear shape” as a body  type. This is true to an extent, but this type of fat storage is also  heavily dependent on the female sex hormone estrogen. This is one reason  why you see this type of fat storage primarily in women.</p>
<p>High levels of estrogen are awesome for enjoying Grey’s Anatomy and  makin’ babies, but terrible for fat loss – which is why women usually  have more trouble losing fat than men.</p>
<p>However, anyone—male or female—with high estrogen levels will have  trouble losing fat, especially from the lower body. In essence, the  higher your estrogen levels, the greater the likelihood you’ll store fat  in your lower body; mainly in the hips and thighs.</p>
<p>And yes, it IS possible for men to have high estrogen levels.  Unfortunately, outside of having to deal with a declined rate of fat  loss and lower body fat, these guys ALSO have to deal with the ignominy  of man-boobs.</p>
<p>On the whole, estrogen related fat storage is a pain in the butt (get  it!?) but it is not completely unmanageable. You see, you can offset  this phenomenon with certain types of training.</p>
<p>No worries, ladies (and gents!), I’m here to help.</p>
<p>In addition to helping you lose fat stored in the lower body, these  specifically designed workouts will also be great for fat loss in  general. Essentially, they’re great for burning calories and for  shedding lower body fat through estrogen management. Combine the two and  the result is rapid fat loss, with a heavy concentration on lower body  fat stores.</p>
<p><strong>Muffin Tops: No Love for the Love Handles</strong></p>
<p>Probably my least favorite incarnation of regional fat storage is  love handles and lower back fat. This is, of course, because I  personally suffer from such.</p>
<p>Even when I am in lean condition – I’m talking shredded pretty much  everywhere else – I store some fat in my love handles and lower back. It  used to take me an extra 3 weeks to get rid of it!</p>
<p>The reason I tend to store fat this way is because of how my body  reacts to certain hormones, and because of the effect those hormones  have on fat storage.</p>
<p>When I was a fat kid and ate lots and lots of goodies, I screwed by  my endocrine system a wee bit. Nothing too serious, but a decade of  eating rapidly digesting carbs followed by, well, more rapidly digesting  carbs, made my insulin spike and crash and spike and crash all over the  place.</p>
<p>On top of making me fat in that immediacy, it also completely had a  pretty negative effect on the way my body processes and handles insulin  period.</p>
<p>The degree to which you are able to process and respond to glucose  (sugar) in your body is called insulin sensitivity. The higher this is,  the easier and more efficiently your body utilizes carbohydrates for  energy, and the less like you are to store carbs as fat.</p>
<p>On the other hand, insulin resistance is the opposite; you don’t deal  well with carbs. And anything other than a low carb diet pretty much  means you’re gonna hang on to some fat.</p>
<p>And, to make matters worse, as I mentioned previously, there are  regional effects. It’s been shown that people who store fat in the love  handles are generally very insulin resistant – and therefore it can be  reasoned that insulin resistance leads to love handles and lower back  fat storage (which of course, means that insulin resistance makes it  very hard to lose fat from that area as well).</p>
<p>I’m sure many of you out there who have been heavy before are experiencing much the same problems that I used to have.</p>
<p>The good news is that insulin resistance (and the resulting regional  fatness) can be mitigated with certain types of training. For example,  with careful planning and selection of exercises, you can start to  whittle away at your love handles and lower back fat while you increase  insulin sensitivity.</p>
<p>The better news is that I’ve figured out a specific series of training sessions that will do just that.</p>
<p><strong>The One, the Only: Belly Fat</strong></p>
<p>Without question, the most common type of regional fat storage is belly fat. If this isn’t you, it’s someone you know.</p>
<p>Abdominal fat storage obviously has a lot to do with your diet and  overall body fat level; that should be obvious but it never hurts to  touch on it.</p>
<p>Outside of that, it’s hormones baby, hormones.</p>
<p>The one we’re talking about here is cortisol. This hormone has been  in the media a lot in the past few years, and I’ve talked about it a  bit, so by now you know that cortisol is sometimes called a “stress”  hormone.</p>
<p>That moniker is more appropriate than you know.</p>
<p>Basically, that means your body will produce cortisol (and encourage  belly fat storage) under conditions of nearly any type of stress – both  emotional and physical. So to combat cortisol, it’s not enough to just  get more sleep or stop drunk dialing your ex-girlfriend (although that  helps, I’ve heard).</p>
<p>Instead, it is of far greater effect to combat cortisol through resistance training.</p>
<p>Now, if you’re observant, you may have noticed what seems to be a contradiction.</p>
<p>As I said, cortisol is also produced through physical stress. In  fact, training is actually one of the primary means through which your  body will produce this sneaky little hormone.</p>
<p>Additionally, because cortisol has been linked to overtraining and  has a catabolic (muscle wasting) effect, producing too much of it  through training is certainly counterproductive.</p>
<p>It’s important to note, however, that long duration cardio and  extended lifting sessions are what produces the most cortisol, and I  always recommend against those.</p>
<p>Instead, short, intense training sessions using a particular type of  training modality will help to counteract the effects of cortisol; both  the muscle-wasting effect and the cortisol related belly fat storage.</p>

<p>With all of the junk food, false advertising, and false information out in the world today, how is this even possible?  A delicious way of eating healthy that will help me lose weight at the same time?</p>
<p>Yes, this is possible for you once you are armed with the correct information.</p>
<p>The <a rel="nofollow" href="http://naturalremediesnow.com/blog/goto/best_diet/555/2">best diet</a> is going to be one that you can stick to (for more than just a week), one that includes delicious food and one you are happy with, not to mention one that you can maintain for a lifetime.</p>

The point is you do not have to eat like a bird or eat tasteless food to be healthy and lose weight.  Find the healthy foods you enjoy and get creative with those.  You will find you will have an incredible amount of delicious food options.</p>
<p>2.  Do not go cold turkey.</p>
<p>Rome wasn’t built in a day right?  You do not have to change every single one of your habits overnight.  Establishing one healthy eating habit each week or eliminate one “not so good” food every week.  This will prove to be life changing in just 1-2 months.  Not to mention it will eliminate any stress or anxiety you may have over changing all of your habits overnight.  Start with the easiest one for you.  How about drinking water?  Can you replace your sugar drinks with water and just do that for one week?  How about just cutting down on a few sodas and replacing them with water?  One small step each week will make your transition simple and easy.</p>
<p>3.  Do not go hungry.</p>
<p>Another very common mistake I see is people starving themselves in an effort to lose weight quickly.  The truth is you do not need to feel hunger in order to effectively lose weight.  Actually, the contrary is true.  You must give your body enough nourishment (good nourishment, that is) in order to see weight loss results.  Make sure to feed your body consistently throughout the day.  Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all important but so are snacks in between.  Munching on things like raw nuts, fresh fruits and healthy trail mixes can really keep you from experiencing any hunger throughout the day and help control any cravings that may come up.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Developed in the context of Hinduism, yoga was originally practiced with the goal of uniting the body and mind. In the Hindu tradition, the soul is an invisible system of power centers located along the spine, with branches leading from these to other parts of the body and a main line, connecting each power center to the one above and below it. The system carries a spiritual energy that is inhaled. In theory, practicing yoga for back pain fills your body with this healing and vital force.</p>
<p>In yoga, you&#8217;re not only breathing in oxygen, but a spiritual energy that surrounds you. This is life energy. In a yoga breathing exercise, you breathe from your belly, tightening your sphincter muscles with each inhalation. The energy gathers in the &#8216;power center&#8217;, located about two inches below your navel. You hold the breath for a few seconds, and when you exhale, you loosen your sphincter muscle and let the your whole body exhale the wasted and noxious energy that may be the cause of your pain.</p>
<p>The life energy that you gather in your belly is stored there, and it flows up and down to other power centers, located at points along your spine. You have six power centers in the body and one outside, above the skull. Two power centers are located below the belly power center, called the &#8216;burner&#8217;, in the Zen tradition, one at the base of the spine and the other in the pubic area. Above the burner are three other power centers, the heart and the throat power centers, and the spiritually-charged power center, between the eyes. Each power center absorbs life energy, but power also flows from center to center through the channels that connect these.</p>
<p>As you breathe, you will the power that has gathered in the burner to move from power center to power center, allowing the life force to energize one center after another. If you&#8217;re practicing yoga for back pain, you&#8217;ll begin to notice warmth, radiating from an energized power center and then spreading into the painful area. By infusing your body with life force and concentrating it mentally in the area of the pain, you&#8217;re bathing that part of your body with healing energy. </p>
<p>Yoga practice aims to foster the free flow of life energy among these centers and, through their branches, to the rest of the body. Yoga postures enable this. They are somewhat unnatural postures that tend to stretch the muscles and loosen them. Although some positions may be stressful, the stress will strengthen the muscles. This is one of the results you want when practicing yoga for back pain.</p>

Essential oils have some direct effects on organs and body functions.</p>
<p>Please find in the following text an overview with some commonly used essential oils and their effects on your body, mind and spirit. Some effects are scientifically prooven, some not prooven, but traditionally known to appear. Please keep in mind, for private use you should carefully consider the dosing of the oils. Also it is very crucial to be assure of your toleration of the related substances, especially regarding individual allergies.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We&#8217;ve all heard it said &#8220;We can land spaceships on Mars, but can&#8217;t even cure the common cold.&#8221; The cold seems to be a humbling curse that is mankind&#8217;s burden forever.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Despite the frustrations of science, some people claim to cure a cold with an amazing variety of stuff like garlic, ginger, zinc, and vitamin C. These never worked for me. I found that once my cold started, I was in for a week of suffering.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>That is, until an acquaintance gave me a vial of Chinese pills and told me to take them if I felt a cold coming on. A few days later, I awoke with a sore throat. Before leaving for work I remembered the pills, and took them.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>That evening, I realized that my budding cold had vanished, gone without a trace. What was that stuff?</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The stuff tuned out to be Yin Chiao. Was this a fluke? How could no one know about this? As it turns out, it was no fluke. Since that day, Yin Chiao and similar Chinese remedies have ended most of my colds. Perhaps medical science hasn&#8217;t cured the common cold, but it appears that Chinese herbalists did it hundreds of years ago. The formula for Yin Chiao was first published in the eighteenth century. It&#8217;s hard to understand why it would take the West so long to discover them. I imagine if bad news travels quickly, good news must travel slowly.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Different ideas, no matter how good, are met with resistance. That&#8217;s why it took us about a thousand years to discover Chinese food. With pharmaceutical cold medicines proving to be harmful, let&#8217;s hope it doesn&#8217;t take another thousand years to discover Chinese herbal medicine.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Not only are they safer, but Chinese herbs are simply more effective. When you discover them, you&#8217;ll never even think about drugs for colds or visiting the doctor for a cold.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>When the Western civilization discovers them, it could turn our medical establishment upside down, easing suffering and preventing millions of needless trips to the doctor. This might be bad news for doctors, but it&#8217;s very good news for everyone else.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Though ancient Chinese herbalists knew nothing about germs, they knew that respiratory diseases were caused exterior wind evils. Evils that caused serious diseases like influenza and measles were called wind-heat evils. Common colds were caused by wind-cold evils.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Our bodies are protected from wind evils by defensive energy, known as wei qi.  With adequate wei qi, you can be exposed to disease without getting sick. Herbs such as astragalus can be used to boost the wei qi, protecting us from invaders. They block the entry of wind evils.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Expelling these evils requires herbs that release exterior conditions. Some of these are ginger, mint, kudzu root, and many others. Some of these herbs protect against wind-heat evils; others defend against wind-cold invaders. These herbs are rarely taken alone, but are combined in formulas that greatly increase their potency.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Some of the most popular Chinese cold formulas appear work on any kind of wind invasion, hot or cold. However I have found that certain formulas work better on different parts of the body.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>For example, colds originating in the throat seem to respond best to Yin Chiao, which is taken at the first sign of cold. Keep them with you during cold season; the sooner you take them, the better they work. Yin Chiao contains remarkably simple and safe herbs. They are: honeysuckle, forsythia, balloon flower, peppermint, edible burdock, crested grass, schizonepeta, fermented soybean, and Chinese licorice root.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>For colds that begin in the nose, I prefer Gan Mao Ling. Use it alone or combine it with Yin Chiao when nasal or sinus congestion is present at the onset. Gan mao ling contains: Ilex Root, Chrysanthemum Flower, Vitex Herb, Isatis Root, and honeysuckle flower</p>
<p> </p>
<p>To relieve colds which are too far developed to stop, or to relieve colds that begin with body aches, fever, and chills, I believe the best remedy is Zong Gan Ling which contains: kudzu root, hairy holly root, vervain, woad root, wormwood, gypsum, and notopterygi.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Preventing a cold requires a different formula altogether, one that strengthens the body&#8217;s defensive energy. The most famous of these formulas is called Jade Windscreen or Jade Shield. This formula is used to build defensive energy (wei qi) and protect against cold, flu, and other invasions.  Jade Screen contains astragalus, Atractylodis, and Siler.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Many of these formulas are available in natural food stores, particularly on the West Coast. If you can&#8217;t find them at your local health food store, you can certainly find them on the web. I strongly suggest that you try them. They will open your eyes to the potency and reliability of Chinese herbals. And unlike many of the drugs at your drugstore, all of these are safe for children.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Remember that a mere hundred years ago, no one in the West had even heard of Chinese food. Today there are Chinese restaurants everywhere. I can assure you that Chinese cold medicines work, and will become as valuable to our culture in the 21st century as Chinese food became in the 20th century.</p>

<p><strong>Myasthenia Gravis </strong>is a chronic illness in which weakness and rapid fatigue of any of the muscles under your voluntary control is experienced. The cause of myasthenia gravis is a disturbance in transfer of signal between nerves and muscles. Under normal situation in the neuromuscular system, the chemical acetylcholine transmits nerve impulses to muscles, at neuromuscular junctions, which is a receptor sites in muscles to receive nerve impulses and give signal to muscles to contract, such as when we raise a hand to hold something.</p>
<p>In myasthenia gravis, there&#8217;s a disturbance in interaction between nerves and muscles. The cause of this is bodyâ€™s immune system. The illness causes immune system to produce antibodies that disturbs some of the receptor sites for acetylcholine in affected muscles. As there are decreased receptors sites in affected muscle the muscle receives less amount of impulse which results in to inappropriate functioning and weakness.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s observed that a gland called thymus ( a part of bodyâ€™s immune system) which is located in the chest beneath the breastbone, may be involved in production of these antibodies. The gland is usually large during infancy, but becomes small in adults. In some patients with myasthenia gravis, the thymus is found to be larger than normal. There may be even tumor in thymus gland. </p>
